Training with power is becoming increasingly popular in cycling and triathlon because of the positive effect it has on bike fitness. It gives objective measurements about performance and allows for smarter training. Zoom Performance can help to enhance your training through a Threshold Power Test. Using an indoor trainer equipped with power, you will perform a maximal effort time trial on a flat course. Your average power over the course of this test will be used to determine your individual power training zones. It is recommended that you periodically perform these field tests in order to track your progress and ensure that your training is effective. Following each test, a certified coach will discuss your results and goals with you, and they will make recommendations for the types of workouts which will enhance your performance.
Testing Protocol:
- 10-15 minutes: warm-up
- 5 minutes: ride as hard as you can
- 10 minutes: ride easy
- 20 minutes: max effort time trial
- 10 minutes: cool-down
